I bring vision in different sectors. In the pharma and health sector, I am chairman of Cofares Diversificación, the group of subsidiaries of the leading pharmacy distributor in Spain. In the financial sector, I am a director and secretary of Morinvest, the investment company led by Alicia Koplowitz. I am also a director of Las Rozas Innova (innovation) and I am on the advisory board of Metrodora (training) and Sagardoy (legal).
Previously, I had a long career in the public sector. I was Minister of Economy and Finance of the Community of Madrid, and before that I was also Minister of Health and Minister of Immigration. I am also familiar with the national and global level, as I was Deputy Director of the Cabinet of the President of the Government José María Aznar.
I am active in the field of ideas and analysis. I am director of continuing education at the Universidad de Las Hespérides and was vice-rector of the Universidad Francisco Marroquín, in Central America. I have received the Economic Freedom Award from the Heritage Foundation.
In the non-profit field, I am part of the global Board of the Mont Pelerin Society, I am vice-president of FIL and I belong to the board of trustees of foundations such as FAES, Civismo and ICAM-Cortina.
My background is in Law and Political Science and Sociology, both degrees from the Complutense University of Madrid.
